DB9 defined a generation of Aston Martin grand touring. Built at Gaydon and shaped around the marque’s bonded aluminium VH architecture, its 2+2 coupe silhouette brings together long-distance composure, handcrafted detail and unmistakable DB presence.
The DB9 GT is the final and most powerful expression of that idea. Its naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 produces 547 PS, sending its power rearward through a six-speed Touchtronic II transmission.
With a 183 mph top speed and manufacturer-quoted 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, DB9 GT gives the classic Aston Martin V12 grand tourer a fitting final chapter.
A Grand Touring Farewell
The final DB9 brings hand-built V12 power to an enduring silhouette.
Design
The DB9’s 2+2 coupe form was designed from the ground up as the first Aston Martin built at Gaydon. Its aluminium bonnet, roof and rear wings, together with composite front wings and boot lid, contribute to a body that is both light and rigid.
For DB9 GT, the familiar grand-tourer proportion remains: a long bonnet, compact cabin and flowing tail shaped around the Aston Martin V12.
Performance
DB9 GT is the most powerful DB9, with 547 PS from its 6.0-litre V12. In US-market reporting of Aston Martin’s quoted figures, this equates to 540 hp and 457 lb-ft, with 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and a 183 mph top speed.
The front mid-mounted engine sends its output to the rear wheels through a rear mid-mounted Touchtronic II six-speed automatic transmission.
Chassis
The bonded aluminium VH structure is complemented by independent double-wishbone suspension and a three-stage Adaptive Damping System, offering Normal, Sport and Track modes.
Carbon-ceramic brakes, Dynamic Stability Control with Track mode, and a limited-slip differential provide the control to match the V12’s long-range performance.
Craftsmanship
DB9 pairs its sporting architecture with a full-grain leather interior, electrically adjustable sports seats and a leather sports steering wheel. The result is a focused cockpit with the ease and comfort expected of an Aston Martin Sports GT.
